Summer Weekly
Meditation

Luke 4:16-19

While reading, consider the greatness of our God: everything has its source and beginning in God, our Creator.  Think about how you can pause and rest this week. Push pause of the quick pace and rhythm of your days to lean in and listen to Him.

As you pray, thank God for being mighty and powerful.  Pray that you would make room for Sabbath and rest in your schedule and life.  Ask God to help us be a people who find a rhythm of rest in Him; learning to respond to His promptings instead of the demands and obligations of others.

While reading the Psalms, you many have noticed the word Selah in the midst of chapters and verses, One interpretation of the meaning of Selah is pause or stop.  As we move through our meditations for the next few weeks, we invite you to do just that.

Pause and pray.

Stop.  Exhale.  Lean in.  Ask God.  Hear Him.
This summer we are asking each of you to meditate on one passage of scripture for the entire week. We encourage you to read this passage daily. Prior to reading everyday, pray that God will speak to you through His word and that He will make words jump off the page at you and that He will teach you how to apply it to your life. Meditating on His word requires you to dwell in it. Here are some ways to do that.

1. Read the passage multiple times each day.
2. Memorize key verses in the passage.
3. Consider your role in this passage. How do I relate to God in this?
4. Listen to what the Spirit of God is telling you through these words.
5. Put it into practice.

Also, we are asking all of you to join together, as a church, to pray specifically about certain things each week.

Thank you for engaging!
