Joey Butler, Pastor

Joey was born in Laurel, Mississippi and is a die-hard Mississippi State fan. He
graduated from East Texas Baptist University and contined his education at Midwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary, where he received a Masters of Divinity and a Masters
of Religious Education. Prior to his leadership at Gateway Church of Blue Springs,
he served 17 years in various student ministries.
Joey is married to Dawn, and they have 3 children; Ty, Zac, and Josy. Joey loves
comedy and he's a huge fan of God's favorite sport - baseball. His southern roots
render him a connoisseur of sweet tea and fried foods.

Meagan Farber, Associate Pastor

Meagan grew up in Blue Springs, MO and attended Oklahoma Baptist University where
she earned a degree in Elementary Education. Next, she was off to Truett Seminary
at Baylor University where she received a Masters of Divinity in 2007. After spending
8 years living in other parts of the US and the world, she is excited to be back
in Blue Springs.
Meagan is passionate about helping others live a missional life. Over the last few
years, she has served in several places throughout the United States. Her passion
to serve others has also taken her to India.

Cindi Skeen, Administrative Assistant

Cindi Skeen was raised in Independence and now lives at Lake Tapawingo in Blue Springs.
She is married to her best friend David, and they have 2 grown children, Matt and
Megan, and a daughter-in-law Janel.
After being a part of Gateway from the start, in 2005, God presented an opportunity
and led Cindi to the position of Administrative Assistant at Gateway Church of Blue
Springs. Cindi also serves on the Greeter Team, Fellowship Team, and Service Team
at Gateway.

Amy Vanarsdall, Trustee

Trustee Amy Vanarsdall feels has been a part of Gateway since the beginning- when
a handful of people put the dream God stirred in their hearts to action and started
a church. Amy enjoys helping lead an adult Life Group and she's part of the Worship
Leadership Team.
Amy has a heart for students, and works in student ministry at Fellowship of Christian
Athletes. She also coaches the Club 121 at Blue Springs High School. Her other huge
love is for Israel and the Jewish people. She has made several trips to Israel and
is always anxious for a return visit.
Dave Corwin, Trustee

David is a Kansas City native and grew up in the Northeast area. He has been a part
of Gateway since January, 2005 and serves on the Operations team assisting with
coordinating the setup activities. He has a passion for church leadership and feels
privileged to be part of Gateway and thrilled to serve in the Trustee position.
He enjoys sports in general but really enjoys running, bicycling, golfing and the
outdoors. David and his wife Theresa are proud parents of two daughters, Heather
and Melissa. They are all residents of Blue Springs, Missouri.
Pat Whitworth, Trustee

Pat serves in a leadership position as a Gateway Church Trustee. He is also a Life
Group leader and has a heart for missions.
Pat was born in Independence, MO and grew up in Blue Springs. He and his wife Lee
Anne, are optometrists at Whitworth Optometry in Independence. Pat and Lee Anne
enjoy the great outdoors and love to snow ski, travel, and hike. They also love
to fellowship and socialize with their Gateway family.
Scott Sterling, Trustee

Scott Sterling serves as a Trustee of Gateway Church. He has a heart for sharing
Christ with young people and is very involved in the TPX student ministry and the
KidsQuest children's ministry at Gateway.
Scott was born in Madison, South Dakota and moved to Blue Springs in 1982. He is
employed at Sterling Industries, and when he's not working, he enjoys spending time
with his family. Scott loves all styles of music, and his hobbies revolve around
sports. His favorites include golf, basketball, and football.
Cordell Kirk, Trustee

Cordell is a lifelong resident of Blue Springs, Missouri. He and his wife Shannon
were married in 1986 and are the proud parents of a daughter, Makenzie.
Cordell and Shannon lead a Life Group and are involved in several other ministries
at Gateway Church. One of Cordell's passions is doing church differently. "A life-changing
relationship with Jesus Christ is exciting. It's our privilege and responsibility
as a church to introduce people to the exciting, dynamic person of Christ."
